DESCRIPTION:As envisioned by the founders\, the special cask maturation in 
 the traditional Faroese “opnahjallur” has proven to be one of the main
  characteristics of Faer Isles Distillery.\n\nWe now want to take this con
 cept one step further. Because just as casks are highly individual\, “op
 nahjallar” are different too\, their placement and design affecting the 
 flavour of the food. Used mainly for curing fish and lamb\, tasting the fo
 od is commonly followed by the question: “where has it hung?” \n\nWe 
 now give the unique opportunity to get your own small cask filled with our
  lightly peated new make spirit to mature in your own opnahjall. Maturatio
 n in such small casks gives a much quicker maturation\, so a balanced youn
 g malt can be expected after just 2-.3 years. And this way\, you can follo
 w the process and taste your own cask at home whenever you like.\n\nOur gr
 eat partner\, ASC Barrels\, has prepared 20 x 10L barrels especially for t
 his purpose. The barrels are reconstructed from bourbon and sherry barrels
 . The founder and director of ASC Barrels\, Alex Sakon\, give a lecture ab
 out oak wood and how it affects the maturing spirit.\n\nWe invite you to a
  5-hour master class\, where you will learn all the basics of whisky disti

DESCRIPTION:\n\nAnnual Cask Owners’ Day is where owners of casks and cask
  shares that are maturing in our warehouses meet to taste samples of their
  maturing whisky have a great day of fun and inspiration.\n\nWe start with
  a visit at the "rimahjallur" warehouses in Kvívík\, where our Head Dist
 iller will do a tour and talk about whisky maturation\, our whisky flavour
  profile &amp\; wood policy. We will also try some of the maturing young m
 alt. We will then move on to Vestmanna\, where you will get a sample of yo
 ur cask\, and we and have a great time and hear presentations from our Man
 aging Director and our Brand Ambassador. The event includes some free drin
 ks and food.\n\nThe event starts at 16:00 with bus pick up in Tórshavn (G
 undadalur) - or 16:30 if you join in Kvívík. At around midnight the bus 
 drives back to Tórshavn.\n\nFrom 19:00 we invite in the public\, and ther

SUMMARY:Fill Your Own 10L Whisky Cask
DESCRIPTION:\nAs envisioned by the founders\, the special cask maturation i
 n the traditional Faroese “rimahjallur” has proven to be one of the ma
 in characteristics of Faer Isles Distillery.\nIn 2024\, we took this conce
 pt one step further. Because just as casks are highly individual\, rimahja
 llar are different too\, their placement and design affecting the flavour 
 of the food. Used mainly for curing fish and lamb\, tasting the food is co
 mmonly followed by the question: “where has it hung?”&nbsp\;\nWe now g
 ive the unique opportunity to get your own small cask filled with our ligh
 tly peated new make spirit to mature in your own rimahjall. Maturation in 
 such small casks gives a much quicker maturation\, so a balanced young mal
 t can be expected after just 2-.3 years. And this way\, you can follow the
  process and taste your own cask at home whenever you like.\nOur great par
 tner\, ASC Barrels\, has prepared some 10L barrels especially for this pur
 pose. The barrels are reconstructed from bourbon and sherry barrels. At th
 e event\, the founder and director of ASC Barrels\, Alex Sakon\, gives a l
 ecture about oak wood and how it affects the maturing spirit.\nWe invite y
 ou to a 5-hour master class\, where you will learn all the basics of whisk
 y distilling\, including malting\, fermentation\, distillation\, and matur
 ation.\nThe course includes:\n\nVisit to our “opnhjallur” whisky matur
 ation warehouses in Kvívík. Sample tasting\nTour of the distillery\nMast
 erclass in whisky distilling by our Head Distiller\nLecture about oak wood
  used for maturing whisky\nLecture about how oak wood affects the new make
